Website Build & Maintenance

This was probably one of the most fun builds I have ever done at Hanson. I got to lead this project and since it was our website we got to be a bit more experimental than we normally would with a client’s site due to budget.

I used the new WordPress Gutenberg editor to declare custom blocks that I integrated with the plugin Advanced Custom Fields. This allowed me to create highly custom blocks that appear in WordPress as a couple of fields. The reason I took this approach was so that our designers could build more advanced pages without having to find time to have a developer help them build a new page when they needed one.

I also got to do some cool stuff with Javascript such as randomizing which employee photos show up on the Culture page and making the nav appear as though it expands onto the page.
